Dubbed by Cincinnati City Beat as "the local music scene's youngest veterans," members of Marking Twain have been performing in bars across the Midwest long before they were legally able to patronize them. Consequently, the band exudes confidence and musicianship that only comes from years of performing, but at ages typically dedicated to learning the ropes. With no members older than 21, Marking Twain is everything that comes along with being a young and energetic rock band, but with enough musical maturity to appeal beyond just their peers.

Meeting as students at Miami University of Ohio, the band formed 6 months before the December 2005 release of their critically acclaimed debut album "The Identity Slip." Since then, MT showcased at national music festivals, performed alongside various national acts, been nominated for prestigious Cincinnati area music awards and pursued a rigorous touring schedule that includes playing at some of the most respected venues in the Midwest and select East Coast cities.

A year of performing together has seen Marking Twain dedicated to just about anything to spread their music, including painfully necessary post-show late night trips back to "The Heartland" from New York City, Chicago, and Pittsburgh. Now under the development of Nashville-based producer Chris Estes of Bestes Music, the band is headed to Tennessee in December of 2006 to begin working on a new release.
